Tartan Day, celebrated on 6 April, marks Scotland's independence from England in 1320. Angus Council initiated the first Tartan Day festival in 2004, aiming for global recognition. Now observed worldwide, it commemorates Scottish heritage in countries like the United States, Argentina, New Zealand, Canada, and Australia (on 1 July). Events feature Highland dancing, pipe band parades, and various Scottish-themed festivities.
